Warrior Day Camp Week of August 17 Monday through Friday 8 am – 5 pm
Driscoll Skating & Skills will host players at the Warrior Ice Arena, the state-of-the art practice and training facility for the NHL’s Boston Bruins. The one-week summer day camp will feature 15 hours of on-ice training: ten hours of Power Skating and Edge Work along and five hours of Stickhandling and Passing with Movement. The skating and edge work component will focus on the Core Curriculum with a particular focus on crossovers and tight turns at full speed with puck on stick. The on-ice Stickhandling component will focus on staple Stickhandling skills and evolve during the course of the week to include the Dekes, Moves and Fakes that are most effective.
The off-ice program will be thoughtfully designed to identify and implement the most important pieces of a successful Long-Term Development plan for our players. We will focus on introducing age appropriate training for all of our players. The off-ice program will feature Stickhandling; age appropriate core strength training; and Shooting. All players will receive a small group off-ice private shooting lesson where we will encourage them devise a plan to shoot pucks as part of their year-round training.
Players will leave the program with an understanding of the importance of off-ice training and have a plan to execute during the coming season. Our overriding philosophy will be that if players are willing and able to dedicate ten or fifteen minutes a day or every other day to stickhandle or shoot pucks, there will be a nice compounding effect over the long-term.
Each session will be limited to 30 players per session and five experienced Driscoll Skating & Skills coaches will be on the ice at all times.
Player:Coach ratio of not more than 6:1
